Praise the Lord
All you servants
Who minister
By night
In the house of our God
By the roadside
Lake
Mountains
And homes
In the hidden and the quiet
The lonely
Darkness
The long , solitary serving…
Outcasts
Lowly
Different
Called to serve
The set apart
At an unlikely hour and place
The long, dark night
Behold, bless the Lord, all servants of the Lord,
Who serve by night in the house of the Lord! ~ Psalm 134: 1 (NASB)
Anonymous words from a woman freed from sex trafficking …”I am healed…whole…delivered. Jesus gentle, He still loves me. Others thought they had to bring Him to me, but He was always standing with me. He took me out of nothing, out of the bed, the stinky and smelly. He made me something beautiful. I don’t want to stop talking about it. Oh what joy…I know He loves me…and its real!”
There are some of us who are called to serve behind the scenes. Following Jesus’ example, we meet by the roadside, lake, mountain, or reline in our homes. We know that God is with us and we don’t have to bring Him to anyone. He has already been sitting beside His broken people. We minister to those on the fringes, those begging for healing and a touch of the hem of His garment. We the wounded healers , outcasts, lowly, and different, minister to the same. We humbly serve without recognition from the crowds and know that our God is with us. He lights our lamps and shows us where to go. His work will flourish as He illuminates our darkness and we walk towards Him. Though we may feel in bondage in this town, or place He has brought us, He calls us to obedience. We pray for the people He has led to us and for the welfare of our city. With His strength we can scale any walls. He will protect and help us fight our battles.
Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare. ~ Jeremiah 29:7 (NASB)
He will light our lamps and help us leap over the walls before us!
