Olive Tree Strong
But as for me, I am like a green olive tree
In the house of God;
I trust in the loving kindness of God forever and ever. Psalm 52:8 

I say it like a mantra
“I will trust in the Lord!”
Though alone and afraid
Running . . . hidden in the dark
Badly bruised and shaken
I will trust in the Lord!
The olive tree’s knobby, twisted trunks
Grow under the harshest conditions
Steamy or frigid, arid or soaked
Rocky or sandy
The olive tree thrives, its roots deeply embedded
If cut down, new shoots spring forth
Fruit flourishes
Beautiful and strong
Gracefully bent
The olive tree endures
Shaken and fallen, beaten and bruised
Messy is the process
Purpose revealed
Refinement of the purest of oils
Refinement of us
Cleanse, be nourished, and heal
 Son breaks through
Turn toward the Light
“I will trust in the Lord and be olive tree strong!”
