Draw away to the lonely places…

But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. ~ Luke 5:16

When the crowds pressed in and he needed to be strengthened, Jesus would often draw away and rest by the lakeside.  I’m thankful that it is the weekend and we can slow down, and take a break from our crazy schedules.  Jesus modeled this for us.  He took a break from his work to be strengthened. Remember His Sabbath rest.  What did he do on his break, his time set apart?  He prayed…so often I think we  forget this critical aspect! Take a prayer walk or run this weekend, before the storm hits. Spend time alone  with Him, thanking Him for his provision, leading, and healing in your life.

Do not forget this sitting by the lakeside, His rest is necessary preparation time.  As we are alone with Him,  He ministers and equips us to serve others.  He has a purpose for all that we are going through, and His hands will bind up our wounds and strengthen us for His service.   He will meet us in our lonely places.

Blessings,

Lily Mae
